How do I get Devnet Certified

How do I get Devnet Certified – When Cisco first announced the up-gradation of its certifications, the DevNet track launched with an associate and professional-level certification connecting software with IT infrastructure. In the beginning, the Cisco DevNet certifications exam was confusing to most, as no other certification could validate skills in network automation along with developing and maintaining applications built on Cisco platforms.

But now, software developers, infrastructure architects, network designers, and system integration programmers are eager to link the DevNet certifications to their profile. This is because it proves their foundational knowledge in the field of automation, applications, and Cisco platforms. That made Cisco launch DevNet Expert-level certification, i.e., CCIE DevNet lab exam commencing from May 2nd, 2022.

As we are already aware of Cisco certifications and how they are considered the most prestigious and highly paid certifications across the globe, we must learn how to approach the Cisco DevNet exam and pass it in the first attempt.

But first, let’s get familiar with different levels of DevNet certification by Cisco and required training to pass the global exam.

How do I get DevNet Certified?

8 Good Reasons to Pursue Newly Launched DevNet Track

Cisco has brought many changes to its certification lineup in the past few years. They have pretty much overhauled their existing certification program to modernize the traditional certification path for upcoming network engineers.

But there was still something missing from its offerings, that is, a Cisco certification tailored for developers. With programming skills becoming a need for many IT roles these days, there was a definite need to validate them.

This is where the new DevNet track comes into play. What we have is a development-focused certification path along with the conventional network-centric ones. As we know, Cisco currently offers its DevNet track in associate, professional and expert-level certifications. Each of them aims to teach network engineers skills that will make them future-ready and validate their network automation and programmability skills. Let’s look at seven good reasons why one should pursue the newly launched DevNet track.

1. Learn from World’s Youngest DevNet Expert

PyNet Labs’ CTO and Co-Founder, Mr. Abhijit Bakale is the world’s youngest and one of the top 25 Cisco Certified DevNet Experts in the world. Learn from the best to become the best and earn your DevNet certification.

2. DevNet gives developers a Cisco Certification option

Cisco certification paths were focused on aspiring sys admins and network engineers for a long time. Although getting CCNA certified as a developer was beneficial, it was wiser to spend the time and effort elsewhere.

Currently, there are many developers and applications focused on Cisco platforms. That means there are a lot of developers working with Cisco solutions, and they can provide a great value working with Cisco gear.

Before DevNet, there was an absence of certification, especially for developers. But now, developers have a choice of certification from an industry giant like Cisco. This is something people have wanted Cisco to introduce for a long time, and now that it is here, it is helping to provide a path for current and aspiring developers.

3. DevNet emphasizes automation

Due to increased productivity and short implementation windows that it brings, among other benefits, network automation has become an industry favorite. APIs and Infrastructure as code allow developers to streamline their application delivery and operations. By automating the development, testing, and implementation of services on Cisco devices, many potential downtimes can be reduced. Also, a more refined quality product can be delivered to users in less time.

The certifications under the DevNet track that focus on automation come with a lot of benefits. Network automation centric DevNet certifications are listed here for you:

  • Enterprise Automation and Programmability (300-435 ENAUTO)
  • Data Center Automation and Programmability (300-635 DCAUTO)
  • Security Automation and Programmability (300-735 SAUTO)
  • Service Provider Automation and Programmability (300-535 SPAUTO)
  • Collaboration Automation and Programmability (300-835 CLAUTO)

These DevNet certifications make it easier for hiring managers to single out automation specialists and help individuals market themselves better. With the increase in the popularity of DevOps for network engineers, such specialist certifications are proving to be a very valuable addition for professionals.

4. DevNet can help you learn about IoT

If you want to build secure and scalable networks in a non-conventional way, IoT may be the right option for you. And, if you find Cisco networks and data visualization interesting, you should consider DevNet’s IoT specialization.

According to studies by Gartner and Ericsson, the importance of IoT is growing by leaps and bounds. You can expect IoT to be used anywhere a networked sensor can provide useful data. As we move forward and the adoption of Wi-Fi 6 and 5G grows, there will be a greater number of use cases for IoT to expand in industrial settings too.

Cisco understands this and has introduced the IoT specialization under DevNet to validate related skills.

Aspirants need to pass the 300-915 DEVIOT exam to earn the DevNet Specialist – IoT certification. Passing it along with the DEVCOR 350-901 exam will earn you a DevNet Professional Certification.

With the IoT certification under the belt, one can validate their skills in the growing IoT field. Individuals can display their ability to build solutions that allow IoT integration with traditional software. Given the large number of applications of IoT, such skills can lead to a wide variety of opportunities.

5. Becoming a DevNet Professional is suitable for Network Administrators

The DevNet track is a good option for network administrators who plan to spend their careers working on software applications on Cisco networks. And, the DevNet Professional certification is designed for people who possess years of experience in developing and maintaining applications. Many of the specialty courses listed in the sections above specifically mention network administrators as suitable candidates, so getting a DevNet Professional certification is a valuable credential for them.

6. Becoming DevNet Professional is suitable for Network Engineers

Network engineers are an essential piece of the puzzle, as are software developers. These days, apps are no longer hosted on a network but are becoming an integrated part of it. The future of network engineering will require familiarity and the capability to work within software applications, and validating these skills will add a lot of value to your resume.

7. Display your DevNet credentials online

After clearing the associate, professional or expert level DevNet certification, you will be awarded a digital badge. You can put it on all your social media profiles to show the world your hard-earned credentials. This will also attract the attention of potential employers who are looking to hire individuals with skills that match yours.

8. Get Better Career Opportunities

Passing any DevNet certifications will lead to better growth opportunities and higher salaries. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced professional, DevNet can advance your career in the highly in-demand field of automation. Having these credentials can also result in leadership roles and new and exciting projects in your organization.

To start with DevNet, you will need to know Python programming, as mentioned by Cisco, as a necessary skill for learning the DEVASC course. But as not many network professionals are well versed with this language, this can be a major hurdle in entering the DevNet track. So, choose an institute that offers you Python training along with DEVASC. With PyNet Labs, you get a unique combo of Python for Network Engineers + Ansible + CCNA DevNet Training that can help you gain this associate-level credential. Also, we offer learning PDFs, access to a private learning group, and lifetime access to regular class recordings to help you clear the certification with ease.

After CCNA DevNet training or CCNA DevNet Bootcamp Training, you can go for PyNet Labs’ DEVCOR 350-901 training and DEVIOT training to get the professional-level certification and improve your career graph in the network automation field.
